Flu season has arrived and it is not very pretty, taking almost 20% of the upper school students as victims. In the past two weeks, a lot of students in the upper school have been out with flu or a similar sickness, missing many hours of school work.
The reason it spread so quickly was because students would come to school sick not wanting to miss class and others would catch something. When a student is sick and cannot come to school, their parents needs to call the office to let Mrs. McClain know. Students need to make sure that they are fever free for at least 24 hours before returning to school to avoid getting others sick.
There are many other ways to avoid getting sick and staying healthy. Make sure to drink lots of water and get enough sleep. Vitamin C is important to help you stay salubrious. Orange juice is a great source of vitamin C. Wash your hands regularly and eat lots of fruits and vegetables.
Hopefully, all upper school students will be back in great health before you can say “influenza”.
