Upper School girls have taken a step up and started a bible study during Monday lunch. All Upper School girls are invited to have a place in these meetings. The theme verse for the Bible study is Jeremiah 17:7-8, “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green and they never stop producing fruit.” When asked why this was the cornerstone for Bloom, Shelby Jenkins responded, “This is because at retreat, a seed was planted in all of our hearts, and this school year it’s going to bloom in Christ and fellowship with one another.”
Every Monday, one of the nine leaders give a short devotional. The leaders of “Bloom” are Ali Johnson, Avery Phillips, Emma Lowes, Maci Rosene, Ansley Nevil, Shelby Jenkins, Meg Boone, Lauren Rose, and Caitlin Cooper. They are open with anyone who wants to talk to them and welcome any questions or discussions that someone might have. The Bible study started when Shelby Jenkins reached out to the individuals listed above, and they all agreed that the students in our school need God in more than just classes and chapel. Bloom was created to give high school girls a community to trust in and fellowship with one another. It gives the girls a deep connection with one another and a safe and open environment, both in and outside of school. The bible study is held for 35 minutes every Monday during lunch. Bloom is brand new to MCA and the leaders would love if you attended.
