Last Thursday, the McKinney Christian Varsity baseball team had a doubleheader against Prince of Peace Christian Academy. Originally the game was not supposed to be a doubleheader, but it came to that when their original game was canceled the Tuesday before due to weather. They played at Prince of Peace for both games, the first one starting at 3:30 and the next one at 5: oo. Their first game was a tough loss for the Mustangs, the final score was 8-2. That did not stop them though. They went into the second game forgetting about the last. The Mustangs won. The score was 16-6. Junior Sam Utzig commented about both of the games, “I’m happy about how well we responded to the game one loss. The bats came alive in game two and it was a really fun game.” This was a big win for the Mustangs since Prince of Peace is a higher level team. The team is ready to win their next game here February 20 at 4:00 against Fort Worth Christian Academy.
