As the soccer season picks up speed, plenty of non-district games need to be played to ensure that the Mustangs are warmed up and ready for district. Competition often varies depending on the size of the school, but that isn’t always the case. So far, the varsity boys have played Irving Highlands on October 30, and Legacy Christian on November 15. On Tuesday night the boys headed to Addison to play Trinity Christian, who is a district above MCA. It’s always more difficult playing a larger school because of the sheer size of their teams, but the Stangs held their own out on the field (with a few slip-ups). The first 30 minutes of the first half went well, until everything collapsed. Two goals slipped in from corner kicks, and one came from a free kick. At halftime, the score was 3-0. The second half went much better; no man was left unmarked and the opposing team couldn’t budge. There were even a few shots by the forwards. The scoreboard may have read 4-0 at the end of the game, but overall it was a well fought game and a learning experience for this years soccer team.
