Recently, MCA 7th graders tested for eligibility into Duke Tip 7th Grade Identification Program. Duke Tip is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving academically gifted and talented students. Duke Tip works with students and their families to identify, recognize, challenge, engage, and help students reach their highest potential. Students can become a member of a program by scoring in the 95th percentile on the Aspire or comparable test. 7th grade Duke Tip members take one of two college entrance exams- the ACT or SAT and based on their scores, can receive state or grand recognition. The following students were recognized for state-level recognition for the 2018-2019 school year: Riley Carlisle, Kyla Chastain, Luke Golle, Elijah Marx, Matthew Meeks, and Kaylin Starling. Additionally, 7th grader, Braden Lamb, received grand recognition for the second year in a row. These students will be awarded at the State Recognition Ceremony on Thursday, May 16.
