On October 17, the Upper and Middle School McKinney Christian Academy cross country teams went to Fort Worth to compete in the DFW Charter-Private-Public Championships. The Upper School boys ran a 5K of 5000 meters and the Upper School girls ran two miles of 3200 meters. The Mustangs had 20 runners set a personal record, finishing with their fastest times yet. Regardless of the challenges, the varsity boys placed fourth overall with senior Peter Clark placing 17th finishing with the time of 18:10. The varsity girls placed fifth overall. Freshman Regan Pogue placed 16th with a time of 13:32. Seniors Aidan McKeller and Summer Crise were given the Ric Flair Award for their display of effort and character. Freshman David Roller is excited for their upcoming district meet saying ”I think we will do good because we put a lot of hard work in training.” The team has an upcoming meet on October 22 at the TAPPS 5A District Championships in Frisco at the Warren Sports Complex.
