On Wednesday, August 19, McKinney Christian Academy held an all-school chapel. This was the third all-school chapel in five years. Headmaster, Heath Nivens, began chapel by speaking about the major new projects coming to MCA, including the STEM building and Multi-Purpose building.

Pastor, Warren Truesdale, spoke on the main theme for this year and shared, “I loved looking out and seeing our whole school community, from Kindergarten through 12th grade, gathered together as one. It was a special time introducing this year’s theme, Rooted and Rising, based on Colossians 2:6–7. It was also a ton of fun getting to watch our new STEM building be dedicated to God through the placing of Bibles and prayer cards in its foundation.”

MCA students were involved in building a foundation for the STEM building. Students made prayer cards and highlighted bible verses. This was a reminder that we are rooted in Christ. Eighth grader, Parker Crews, shared his experience, saying, “Putting the middle school Bible in the foundation was an amazing experience; I felt moved by the Holy Spirit.”
