On Tuesday, Sept. 1, the McKinney Christian Academy Middle School D1 and D2 volleyball teams opened their seasons with victories over the Oakridge Owls. Both teams defeated Oakridge in two sets. The Mustangs came out with high energy and confidence, using strong serves, communication, and teamwork to take control. Both teams remained composed throughout the competition and secured 2-0 victories. “The team really enjoyed the support from our friends and family, and the spirit section was so loud and brought so much energy, which helped during long rallies,” eighth-grader, Hadley Tennison, said.
Both teams worked together to keep rallies going and put pressure on Oakridge with consistent serving. The victories highlighted the teams’ hard work and their ability to communicate on the court. “D1 came into the game with high energy and will strive for excellence all season. This win was a great way to start our season off strong,” Ruby DePetris said.
With D1 and D2 both sweeping the Owls, the MCA Middle School volleyball program started its season with two victories. The Mustangs will look to carry that momentum into their upcoming matches.
