On Tuesday, January 10, MCA’s Varsity Girls Basketball team battled and defeated Shelton with a score of 58-10. When asked to name a valuable player, Senior Lexi Vance nominated her friend and teammate, Marissa. Marissa Wilks is a Junior and has been playing basketball at MCA since she was in the seventh grade and has been a crucial component to the team; her positive attitude and determination constantly encourages her team to push themselves harder each practice and game.

The only thing spooky about Friday the 13th was the points scored on the Coram Deo Lions. The Varsity Girls Basketball team secured a victory on Senior night with a score of 62-53. The team celebrated their Seniors: Lexi Vance, Emilie Brochu, Mikayla Kuehne, and Jackie Greenwell. Each of these seniors have greatly influenced the team this year and continue to lead their team into an undefeated season. Sophomore, Callie Davis said, “The Seniors this year have really made the team and the sport fun. I have loved getting to know these girls this year and cannot wait for playoffs.”

Senior Lexi Vance said, “Senior year is bittersweet. I have really loved getting to play with the team this season. It has been awesome, but it will be sad to see it go. The team is currently undefeated in District play. Their next game is at MCA on Monday, January 16 against HSAA; make sure you come out and support.
