The Lower School Honor Choir had an exciting opportunity to sing the National Anthem at the Allen Americans Hockey game on Sunday, January 15. Coordinators at the Allen American Hockey office had heard of the McKinney Christian Lower School Honor Choir and had been told they were a talented group of students, so they contacted Kathi Bass, Lower School Choir Director, about singing the National Anthem at a game. Bass accepted the offer and chose Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend because of the significance of the day. Bass and the Honor Choir students were able to get into the game for free, and all McKinney Christian students and families were able to purchase tickets to the hockey game at a discounted price. The Honor Choir sang the National Anthem while standing out on the ice. Bass said that it was “very fun seeing the kids taking everything in and enjoying themselves during it all.”
