In only the third week of 2017, the Middle School girls soccer has been displaying excellent teamwork on and off the field. The girls had a rough game against Prince of Peace on January 20th, ending with a loss 1-2. Eighth grader and team captain Hallie Witte says, “I think everyone really encouraged each other and no one gave up. Everyone played hard throughout the whole game. I think it’s important to always be positive and act like a team even when we’re not playing together. Like at school it’s important to lift each other up as a family.” Because the field at Prince of Peace is blue, the girls enjoyed taking pictures after the game on the “smurf” field. The Lady Mustangs have bonded quickly this season with fun drills and weekly time of prayer lead by the coaches, which gives the girls great chemistry that shows on and off the field. They had a game on Monday the 23rd against Good Shepherd, tieing at the very end of the game 2-2. 8th grader Mimi Farquhar says, “We were really good at being first to the ball and even though they were tough, we fought back harder.”
