On Monday, January 23, the Lady Mustangs Varsity Basketball team secured a decisive win against the Prince of Peace Eagles with a score of 76-21. Junior, Althea Wolfe said, “With our loss in last week’s game I was nervous for this game, but I am so proud of my team. It just goes to show that if we really want to succeed we will work hard enough to do better.” At a home game on Tuesday, the Lady Mustangs achieved another victory with a score of 65-30 against the Waco Reicher Cougars. To finish up the school week the Varsity Girls team defeated the Dallas Shelton at an away game on Friday. The Lady Mustangs defeated the Chargers with a score of 75-15. Senior, Lexi Vance said, “So far the season has been great. I am so proud of our team and how willing everyone is to put in work and always encourage each other to do better.” The Varsity Girls basketball team is currently 5-0 in district play. Playoffs are scheduled for February 10, and the Lady Mustangs have a promising future in this year’s playoffs. Be sure to come out and support the Lady Mustangs.
