First grade students make Val-O-Grams to be sold during lunch.

Val-O-Grams are a special way to celebrate Valentine’s Day for lower school students. Students sold Val-O-Grams at all lower school lunches for 25 cents each from February 6th through February 13th leading up to Valentine’s Day. Students sacrifice time during their lunch and recess periods selling and taping candy onto each card. By doing this, students are learning how to work hard and give their own time to serving. Val-O-Grams are not just for McKinney Christian students, but they also benefit another organization. Val-O-Grams are sold as a mission project for the year that benefits CASA. It is an organization in McKinney that advocates for children in unsafe homes finding them a safe and loving home to live in. They provide shelter, clothing, school supplies, and whatever the child needs to feel taken care of, safe, and loved.
