McKinney Christian Academy placed 3rd at the TAPPS State tournament held at Liberty Christian Academy. Captain Jackson Brock commented, “Placing 3rd was a huge accomplishment for our team. We have worked extremely hard this season and we ended on a very high note.” Not only did the team place third overall, but MCA also had a record of five state champions. These winners include Caleb Doyle, Rex Collins, Will Harrell, Luke Harrell, and Jackson Brock.  Captain Luke Harrell suffered from an arm fracture early in the season and was out for a large part of the season but was able to return for TAPPS State. He said, “It was really cool to be able to come back and get a state title. As a senior, that was my very last tournament and it was awesome to end my wrestling career like that.” Not only did MCA have five state champs, but they also had many state placers. Davis Madole was a state runner-up and Sam Harrell, Braxton Fillebrown, and Evan Petrek all placed 4th.  It is evident by the finish of the Mustangs that their hard work did indeed pay off.
