From April 4 to April 5th, nominated McKinney Christian Academy students competed at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Academic State Meet, which was held in Waco, Texas. The students competed in numerous different activities such as: poetry, original oratory, persuasive speech, spelling, mathematics, Spanish, and more. Senior, Hannah Glenn, commented about the overall experience at TAPPS, “TAPPS was such an awesome experience this year. It was really rewarding to see everyone’s hard work pay off.” Glenn finished state runner-up in the Debate competition.

The results for the Seniors that went are as the following:

Hannah Glenn for Lincoln-Douglas Debate= 2nd

Luke Norrell for Ready Writing= 3rd

Marcus Shanaa for Advanced Math= 5th

The results for the participating Juniors are as the following:

Laney Barrett for Solo Acting= 4th

Abby Kistner for Literary Criticism= 5th

Abigail Gordon for Prose Interpretation=6th

Kendall Moore for Literary Criticism= 6th

Christopher Thomas for Persuasive Speaking= 8th

The results for the Sophomores that attended are as the following:

Joshua Wong for Mathematics= 1st

Scout Mayberry for Solo Acting= 2nd

Isaac Selz for Poetry Interpretation= 2nd

The results for the Freshmen who are participated are as the following:

Meg Boone for Original Oratory= 3rd

Jerminah Gross for Prose Interpretation= 4th

Ryan Shelton for Number Sense= 7th

For Duet Acting:

Freshman Seth Pugh and Junior Garrett Kramer got 3rd place.

Yearbook, with the theme of The Legacy Continues, placed 7th.

Overall, MCA placed in 2nd place with a total of 81 points, closely missing the first place holder Austin Brentwood Christian School by nine points.
