The senior class enjoyed their last prom at MCA.
April 27, 2017
This year’s prom theme was “An Evening Under the Stars”, and it was going to be just that until the crazy Texas weather decided to let a cold front in, resulting in crazy hail the night before and chillier temperatures the day of. Luckily, Student Government adviser, Jaimie Orozco, and the Student Government members had a backup plan in case something like this happened. The rooftop venue where prom was originally supposed to be held also had an indoor venue available. Everything worked out because the dance was moved indoors.
On Saturday, April 22 at the Event Center on Commerce, after most students parked in the lot reserved by MCA adjacent to the Event Center, they headed on in to dance, socialize, and enjoy the food made by MCA’s own Coach Jerrod Butler. Students were able to enjoy the free photo booth or get their pre-purchased prom pictures taken.
Senior, Katie Dossey, commented, “This was a great last prom and I’m glad I got to spend time having fun with all of my friends.”
In finalizing review of this year’s prom, it was a prom that many will remember.
