Our Greatest Form of Worship

Music: The Gift of God

“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” -Plato

Music can affect the mind and move the soul in ways achievable by other means. It stirs up the deepest parts of our hearts and gives us the ability to dig out our most inner emotions. But most of all, the gift of music can be one of the most powerful forms of worship as it proudly exhibits the talents that were given to us by God and only God. The Bible says that even the mountains of the earth and the heavens above sing His praises.

“Sing for joy you heavens, for the Lord has done this; shout aloud, you earth beneath. Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees…” Isaiah 44:23

This year, I will be introducing a new music column covering a broad spectrum of music including: song or album of the week, concert reviews, showcasing student talents, and much more. My hope is that through the exhibition of music of all kinds, you will be able to see God’s work laden throughout them and grow in your appreciation for the Creator of all.
