This week’s Senior Spotlight features Marissa Wilks and Evan Gerdes.

Marissa Wills has attended McKinney Christian Academy since the seventh grade. Over the course of her high school years, Wilks has participated in art, Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Basketball, Varsity Track, and National Honor Society. Outside of school and sports, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends from church. She plans to attend Abilene Christian University, Colorado Christian University, or Oklahoma Christian University to study either nutrition or business. Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. Wilks has proven herself to be a great student and stellar athlete throughout her high school career.

Evan Gerdes came to MCA in the sixth grade. During his years of high school, Gerdes has enjoyed running Cross Country, art, and choir. He is also a member of National Honor Society. Outside of MCA, Gerdes likes to spend his time writing fictional short stories of all genres. He also enjoys watching Stranger Things, as he is an avid fan. Gerdes will be attending the University of Texas at Dallas to pursue a teaching degree. His favorite Bible verse is Ecclesiastes 4:9-10.
