McKinney Christian Academy celebrated Valentines Day throughout the whole school this year with fun parties, games, and decorations. First grade had a fun time making valentine slime and tying it to the theme, “Be My Valen-slime,” while also dipping marshmallows and graham crackers in a chocolate fountain for a fun snack. Cindy Hamilton, Kindergarten teacher, said, “They had a fun afternoon enjoying making love bugs, decorating heart-shaped cookies and eating and having a heart relay race with little candy hearts on a popsicle stick.” The Kindergarten students also acted as mail carriers, delivering Valentines Day cards to each other’s boxes. The Upper School celebrated Valentines Day with surprise notes made by Sophomore, Shelby Jenkins, on everyone’s lockers with Valentines sayings such as, “you are loved,” “there are seven billion smiles in the world, but yours is my favorite,” “you are worthy,” and “you’re truly awesome.”
