Dem Boyz’ Draft

Will’s Grades Cowboys Draft Picks.

Will Harrell, Staff Writer

First Round (19 overall): Leighton Vander Esch LB

Will’s Grade: A

  • This man is a stud. Big boy from Boise State with good speed as well. Could use a few more pounds on his frame but that can be added with ease. Seems like a hard worker and combined with veteran Sean Lee will wreak some havoc.

Second Round (50): Connor Williams OL

Will’s Grade: B+

  • Many are skeptical of the cowboys picking up an offensive lineman in the second round rather than picking up a necessary receiver spot (as Dez Bryant was recently released), but I like the pick. Nobody denies that the Cowboys O-Line was lacking relative to its past years, and with the addition of Williams, the Cowboys may once more have the Wall that made them so dominant.

Third Round (81): Michael Gallup

Will’s Grade: B

  • The Cowboys finally picked up a receiver in the third round and many would argue that he is far better than a third round pick. Solid Choice
