The All-School Pep Rally was a way to kick off football, volleyball, cheer, and cross country season. Middle School and Varsity cheerleaders welcomed all the students with cheers and stunts. While students piled in, the band played to welcome everyone. Middle School cheer then performed a dance. Head varsity cheer coach, Natasha Verbsky, introduced all of the Middle School and JV teams as they all stood up in recognition. Varsity coaches were then introduced and gave a brief summary on the seasons. Representatives from each Varsity team came on the court to play a relay game. One person from each team had to demonstrate their football skills; one demonstrated their volleyball skills; and the other, their running skills. This was a quick, but intense game. The cross country team took the victorious win. Varsity cheer wrapped up the Pep Rally with the routine that they created at cheer camp that placed them second in the camp competition. Eighth grader Brooke Jensen said, “I feel like the pep rally was a great way to kick off the school year celebrating all of the teams at MCA. I love how we all came together to praise our new upcoming season.” Head coach of Varsity Football Chance Gray led the school in singing the school fight song and Upper School Principal Laura Smith closed the Pep Rally in prayer.
