New teacher, Jacob Yonan and his fiance.

New teacher, Mr. Jacob Yonan, moved to Texas from Los Angeles to become the world church history and apologetics teacher to replace Mr. Key who left to teach abroad. Yonan had planned to move to Texas after he got married. When asked, why he chose to come to MCA prior to his marriage, Yonan said, “I wanted to come to MCA because it is biblically rigorous and I am able to teach apologetics which is my passion.” We asked Yonan about how his teaching experience at MCA has been so far, he said that the students have been great and well engaged, and he was excited for the semester. “My goal is to make sure the students learn something new every day. When they walk out of my classroom I want them to know something new.” Yonan’s positivity while teaching and excitement for the school year are infectious and has rubbed off on many students. Sophomore Peter Clark says, “Mr. Yonan is a great teacher, mentor, and person and I am looking forward to what is to come.” Clark, as well as many others, are very excited for Mr. Yonan’s class.
