2019 Oscars: The Top Hits Head to Head

This year was the 91st annual Academy Award ceremony, the Oscars, which recognized the best films of 2018. The Oscars took place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. Before the Awards began, actors, directors, producers, and singers walked through the red carpet picture ready. Each nominee got several pictures taken dressed up in their best, most flashy outfit. Once the celebrities walked into the theater and found their seats, the event began. Movies are nominated in 24 different categories. Those who vote for who is nominated are split up into 17 branches ranging from acting, directing, writing, and producing. Movies are split up into groups such as best actor, director, costume, special effects, etc. Some of the awards included “Actor in Leading Role” was won by Rami Malek from Bohemian Rhapsody and the Animated Feature Film winner was Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse. The top hit of the night was Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga singing “Shallow” from “A Star is Born” together that evening. Although all who went didn’t win an award, they were were honored to be invited and attend.
