MCA Mission Week 2019 marked the inaugural trip to serve in San Antonio. MCA partnered with Blueprint Ministries, a nonprofit organization, that works with volunteers from all over the nation. Blueprint is committed to making substandard homes in San Antonio warmer, safer, and drier. The Upper School students were divided into two work groups and sent out each day to help refurbish homes within the local community. In the course of a week, the students painted a house, installed a new kitchen counter, repaired stairs, laid new flooring, and painted ceilings. “I loved getting to repair a home and love on the people living in them, it was a very eye-opening experience,” said junior Lauren Levy. On the last night of the mission trip, the students visited the San Antonio Riverwalk, enjoyed an authentic Mexican meal, and went shopping. The mission trip to San Antonio was a success and MCA will continue their partnership with Blueprint Ministries.
