On August 24, the Upper and Middle School McKinney Christian cross country team kicked off the beginning of their fall season at the Medley Relay in Haltom City. The Relay was divided into teams of three for each school. Each team had one member participating in a different portion of the race, the 1,200 meter, the 1,600 meter and the 2,400 meter race. Three MCA relay teams placed in the top five, one of which placed first. Juniors Peter Michael Clark and Maliq Brock and sophomore Daniel Kanz teamed up and won the relay. Brock ran the 1,200 in 3:40, Kanz ran the 1,600 with a time of 5:03, and Clark ran the 2,400 with a time of 8:21 to top off the teams time.Clark said ” It was great to start on a good note and I look forward to the season.”  The middle school also had a strong showing, seventh graders Isabella Harriman and Joy Allen and sixth grader Riley Jones ran a combined time of 28:08.  The first meet of the season may have been unorthodox, but it was still a productive way to start the season. The team has an upcoming meet on September 14th in Denton.
