With the year winding down and school almost over, a very popular topic around the MCA Upper School campus is the induction of becoming a National Honors Society (NHS) member. NHS provides high schoolers commitment to four main pillars, scholarship, service, leadership and character. Besides being a 10th-12th grader, a GPA of a 3.5 and exhibiting and maintaining NHS chapter and MCA standards in character, conduct, and servant leadership these things are what help determine a beneficial member of the NHS. Although, with this year’s complications with Covid-19, MCA’s inductees’ are not able to conduct the induction ceremony this year. Instead, they will receive their recognition into NHS when school resumes back in the fall. The NHS seniors will receive their stole and will be recognized at graduation. Sophomore Maddox Pederson, NHS inductee, describes this time by saying, “It does stink not being able to be inducted soon, although, I’m glad to have a personal induction in the fall.” Look for information regarding the NHS induction ceremony when school resumes in the fall.
