The Lil Stangs football teams started their season this past weekend and were all able pull out a win. The fifth grade team played in a low-scoring game and were able to walk away with a 6-0 win against the Raptors. The fourth grade team is split into two teams referred to as the Blue and Gold due to the amount of players this season. The Blue team played on Saturday versus the Giants and won 41-0. The Gold team struggled on Saturday and lost 12-6 to the Chiefs but were able to fight back on Sunday and beat the same team 12-8. The third grade team also competed on Saturday against the Eagles and won with a blowout victory 26-6. Coach Sonny Goodwin spoke very highly of his third grade team but when asked what they need to focus on, he stated “Getting more tuned in on defense and practice flag pulling at full speed.” All four Lil Stangs teams will play next weekend.
