Will Penny is a junior at McKinney Christian Academy and has recently become an Eagle Scout. He has been at MCA since kindergarten and enjoys being outside, practicing archery and being active in any way he can. In order to become an Eagle Scout, you need eight to ten years to make your way through all of the ranks. There are six ranks that includes Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and Eagle Scout along with earning at least 21 merit badges. An Eagle Scout is the highest level a Boy Scout can get to. The whole purpose of becoming an Eagle Scout is for personal achievement and it represents your character. The last step to becoming an Eagle Scout is to make something in a way to benefit your community. For this project, Penny will be making STEM projects for the library. When asked about impressively becoming an Eagle Scout, Penny replied “Boy Scouts is something that has truly changed my life!”
