On Thursday, March 4, eighteen McKinney Christian Academy students remotely competed in the annual 2021 ACSI Math Olympics. The students participate in two different math categories, computation and reasoning. They competed in three rounds of testing followed by a tie-breaker round. The competition looked a little different this year as the students had to compete from their schools as opposed to meeting at a neutral site. Middle school had students from every grade level place. Seventh grader Adam Gicheru placed first overall in computation along with another fellow 7th grader Zach Scott who placed fourth in reasoning. In sixth grade, Luke McAnally placed first overall in reasoning and Asher Huffman placed fourth. Eighth grade had two winners in the reasoning category with Mia Gunn placing fifth and Jude Westra placing fourth. MCA had another successful year at the ACSI Math Olympics competition.
