On April 22nd, the second graders spent their day doing Colonial inspired activities. Students got to dress up in Colonial clothes such as dresses and hats. They played old timey games such as checkers and marbles, wrote with feather pens, washed clothes on a washboard and hung them up to dry on a clothesline and even made butter. Second grader Griffin McGinnis says that her favorite part of Colonial Day was washing the clothes. The reason for doing all of these colonial activities is because the second graders had just finished their unit learning about the colonies. Colonial day brings their lessons and everything they learned to life.
