Middle school students had the opportunity to show some school spirit and dress up during the week leading up to homecoming. On Monday, each grade wore a different color. Sixth grade wore red, seventh grade wore green and eighth grade wore blue. On Tuesday, it was tie-dye v.s. team so each student wore a jersey to support their favorite team or wore tie-dye. On Wednesday, it was Western Wednesday and all the students broke out their cowboys hats and boots. Thursday was MCA Spirit day to support the Mustangs football game against Good Shepherd. Eighth grader Kody Zbranek added that, “Homecoming week is a lot of fun because I don’t have to wear my normal uniform and I get to see all of my friends’ crazy outfits.”

At Thursday’s middle school football game, the Homecoming court was recognized at halftime. Sixth grade representatives were Pétra Westra and Luke Van Voorst and seventh grade representatives were Presley Dreffs and Will Agness. For the eighth graders, there were six representatives with a Homecoming King and Queen. Representatives were Avery Schall, Dawston Swift, Zach Scott,  Tatum Barnard, Dane Johnson and Aubrey Hejl. Homecoming Queen and King were Schall and Scott.

The year’s middle school homecoming dance was held at The Pole Barn at Myers Park in McKinney. Middle schoolers danced away the night in their cowboy attire and with a large dance area, a DJ and a photobooth to capture the memories. Seventh and eighth grade teacher Andrea McAnally decorated and planned this event for all middle schoolers to have their hoco hoedown.
