Cross Country With Solid Showing at District Meet

On Thursday October 21, the Mustang Cross Country team had a crucial district meet at Norbuck Park in Dallas. Distances for the area meet were three kilometers for the girls and a five kilometers for the boys. The top finisher for the Lady Mustangs was junior Belle Kanz who finished in fourth place with a time of 12:39. The other top 10 finisher for the girls was junior Alexa Harriman who ran a time of 13:11.

Meanwhile, for the boys, sophomore David Roller had the best time for the Mustangs with a 18:42 and an overall finish in third place. Another notable performance was sophomore Nic Catullo who finished 12th a time at 20:08. Overall, the boys finished in fourth and the girls ended in third place. When asked about how the team felt going into state, junior Nate McMahon said, ” The squad feels good and loose going into Waco.” The Mustangs will head to Waco for the state meet on November 1.
