On Saturday, November 13, the Lady Mustangs traveled to Dallas Lutheran School to play the Fort Worth Christian Cardinals. After a victory in Area playoffs, the Mustangs moved into their third round of playoffs. The Mustangs fought to get on top in the first set, but fell short 25-19. The Lady Mustangs lost the second set 25-11, and the third set 25-16. The Mustangs lost in three sets, wrapping up the 2021 season. Coach Tara Ackmann responded to the loss saying, “We thought too much about the game instead of just going out and playing the game we know how to play.”

As the Regional playoff game ended the season, seniors Bella Vaught, Kate Graesser, and manager Abbi Cooper played their last game of high school. Ackmann states some of the highs and lows of the season, as well as many setbacks that the team overcame, “We knew that we were going to have a young team this year after tryouts. It took a little bit to get them acclimated to a higher level of playing. Some things that we overcame were injuries and COVID, but we really peaked towards the end of our season. That’s why I think we had such a strong run through playoffs. We only lost five matches the entire season. I am super proud of this group of young women.” The Lady Mustangs finished the season with 21-5 record.
