On Tuesday, March 5, the Lady Mustangs varsity soccer team competed in the second round of playoffs. In the first round of playoffs, the Mustangs received a bye and automatically advanced to the second round of playoffs without competing. The Mustangs finished first place in their district and played as the first seed in division two. They played against the third seed of division three, the Regents School of Austin. Being the higher seed, the Mustangs hosted the Regents at their home field. The game started competitively, and remained 0-0 throughout the first half. Going into the second half, the Mustangs came out ready to compete. During the second half, the Lady Mustangs conceded a goal. The game ended 0-1 to the Lady Regents. Senior Paxton Crews said, “It was super exciting going into playoffs as district champs. Despite us losing early in playoffs, I am proud of our success in district.” The Mustangs ended their season on Tuesday, and kept a record of 14-2. The Lady Mustangs hold their title of District Champions and Area Finalists, and they are eager to prepare for next year.
