San Antonio Mission Trip

On Monday, February 28, a group of McKinney Christian Academy students traveled to San Antonio for 2022 Missions Week. Once in San Antonio, the group worked with Blueprint Ministries to renovate and improve houses. Blueprint Ministries is a local non-profit that works with volunteers to spread the word of God while serving the disabled, elderly and people with low-income. The group was split into two teams that worked on two different houses. During the week students painted the outside of the houses, replaced damaged boards and installed a new door. Junior Georgia Haggard commented on the impact of the trip saying” The San Antonio mission trip was a great eye-opening experience to how others live, so different from our own lives. I also had a great time with my friends and I grew closer to a lot of people. I will always have such amazing memories from San Antonio.” While not serving, the students were able to take part in several activities like attending a NBA Spurs game, having dinner on the San Antonio Riverwalk, visiting the San Antonio Pearl District and attending the basketball state semi-finals in Waco. Everyone on the trip was thankful for the opportunity to serve the community of San Antonio.
