On Saturday, March 26, the McKinney Christian Academy Jazz band performed at the White Rock Jazz Festival at Bishop Lynch High School. The band performed three songs, “Theme from Monk,” “Sunny,” and “It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got That Swing.” This was the first time that the Jazz band has performed at a jazz festival. The group performed for two world-renowned composers/musicians, Kris Berg and John Wasson. All members of the Jazz Band received the “Outstanding Soloist” award at the festival.
