The Dallas International Cup

The 2022 Dallas International Cup takes place from April 9 to April 17. During the week over 100 thousand spectators watch from all over the world. Since the first tournament in 1980, the Dallas Cup has hosted teams from 48 states and over 100 countries. McKinney Christian Academy has 6 students competing in the Dallas International Cup this year. When asked about what he is most looking forward to in the cup, sophomore Griffin Post stated ”I am looking forward to competing against the top teams from around the world.” Junior Kate Nordhaus plays with Renegades SC 05 and their first game of the cup is Wednesday, April 13 against Boreal FC 05. Historically, the Dallas Cup is known for the large number of international players that travel to compete in the cup. Junior Summer Utzig has several people on her Dallas Texans 05 team who are hosting international players from Denmark. Other mustangs competing in the cup are 8th grader Tatum Barnard-Sting, 8th grader Hannah Doshier-Renegades SC, freshman Kadence Ackmann-Solar 07, and sophomore Ava Thompson-Sting Texas Spirit 05. These Mustangs are looking forward to representing their teams, but also MCA.
