For the fifth year in a row, seniors get the opportunity to purchase and paint a parking spot that they will park in for the year. A painted parking spot can be purchased for $250 and a design request must be submitted to Upper School principal Laura Smith for approval. The parking spot fee is a fundraiser to offset the cost of the senior retreat in January. Throughout the summer, seniors come up to the school in the early morning or late evening to avoid the heat while painting. Inspiration ranges from Bible verses to favorite movies to unique patterns. Senior Grayson Wilkinson who painted a moon over a campfire says, “My parking spot is inspired by nature because I love camping.” Senior Meagan Stephenson painted “Howdy Darlin” on her space. Stephenson says, “I like pink and florals and the quote embraces my country life.”
