This past weekend, the McKinney Christian Academy Varsity Girls Volleyball team traveled to Sequin to play in the Hill Country Tournament. They played six games starting Friday and finishing up Saturday with a winning streak in all six of their games. On Friday the 22, they played 3 games against teams from Austin, New Braunfels and San Antonio taking home a victory after every game. Junior Kylie Mullins said, “The tournament was the bonding experience we needed, and we all had so much fun together. As a team, we were able to experiment and try new things to better our game. We’ll use this win as fuel for the season ahead of us!” On Saturday they played three more games with the final championship against Bay Area Christian, taking home gold for MCA.

Senior Dani Morales, sophomores Mia Gunn and Adi Vanover allowed for our team to run a fast offense because of their great efforts on defense. Once again, Kaylin Starling was a beast at the net even when she was playing as an outside hitter. Kadence Ackmann played a big part at the net in leading our team to victory. Thanks to the setters, Mullins and Ackmann, the Mustangs were able to maintain a quick offense. The Lady Mustangs played hard and it clearly paid off.
