The Lady Mustangs Varsity volleyball team travelled to Bullard to face Brook Hill in a district volleyball match on October 1. After defeating the Guards in four sets in a previous match, Head Coach Tara Ackman says, “I thought we would go down there and beat them in 3, but Brook Hills defense played amazing and kept them in the game, but I’m super proud of our girls for finishing the game strong.” The Mustangs won in 5 sets, winning the first 25-16, fourth 25-12, and fifth 15-9.

Junior Kaylin starling hit a career milestone that day with her 500th career kill. Going into the game, Starling had 498 kills. Only needing two more, she would get both of them in the first set and go on to have 18 more in the game, helping lead the Mustangs to a win. When asked about how she can take this momentum into the rest of the season and playoffs, Starling says, “It can help give me the momentum to motivate my team and lead them to victory.”
