Cross Country Takes Home 2nd at TAPPS 4A District Meet.

On Thursday, October 21, the McKinney Christian Academy Cross Country teams competed in the TAPPS 4A District Meet held at Norbuck Park in Dallas. This meet started with the varsity girls two mile race after that the varsity boys three mile then concluding with the JV boys 5k. Senior, Belle Kanz finished in first place winning the girls 4A two mile race. Some other notable performances were sophomore Joy Allen who came in 13th place and junior Grace Krause who came in 14th place. When asked about the race Krause said, “I felt so proud of my team for finishing the race and giving it their all. All of us worked so hard and deserve to have an awesome win.” Shortly after the girls race, the boys 5k started. Junior David Roller came in first place for the boys 4A race. Shortly after that sophomore Jack Sukhia finished up in 5th place and after that was junior Nicholas Catullo who finished in 6th place. The varsity girls finished 3rd in district while the boys got district runner-up. When asked about how the team feels about heading to state, Head Coach Rett McKeller stated, “anything can happen at State and it usually does. Based on our performances at District, I think we will be surprising other teams with our fastest and most strategic runs of the season.” The Mustangs will travel to Waco on Sunday to run in the TAPPS 4A State Championships on Monday October 31.
