The McKinney Christian Academy’s Mustang basketball team faced off against Fort Worth Temple Christian on Monday. The team started off strong in the first quarter, gaining the early lead. The final score was 64-40 with the Mustangs taking the victory. The student section showed up and showed out for the team, wearing neon to match the theme. Senior captain Bobby McWard contributed 35 points to the Mustangs score. Head coach Fonzo Martinez said, “I think the student section really helped our boys play with more energy and carry on the intensity throughout the game. Without many home games, the crowd makes a difference at home.” The Mustangs have moved to 10-1 and their next game is against Ferris High School in the Sanger Indians tournament this upcoming weekend.
