On Thursday, January 11, McKinney Christian Academy’s Middle School soccer teams played against Shelton. Coming into this match, the Mustangs did not start off strong. The Lady Mustangs ended up losing 7-0. After the game, a few girls were asked about what they can improve on. Eighth grader Peyton Villere adds, “Our team needs to work on communication and being more vigilant. Not one person can do it all.” Eighth grader Heather Kuhlhorst also said “We need to carry the ball up the field more and get it out of our half.” The next middle school girls soccer game is January 19 at home.

The Middle School boys team also played Shelton. The Mustangs started off strong and were up 2-1 at half. As the game continued, the Mustangs put one more in the net to make the final score 3-1. After the game, eighth grader Luke McAnally was asked how he thought the match went, adding “I thought we played pretty good even though Shelton had some pretty athletic players. Overall, I think we outplayed them.” The Middle School boys next game is at home on January 19.
