On Saturday, January 28, the McKinney Christian Academy Advanced Debate team competed in Temple, Texas. They debated for and against the topic that “Justice requires open borders for human migration.” Junior Gerrit Rogers was undefeated in all four rounds and took home first place. Senior Bradley Dovel competed four times and had a record of 3-1. Dovel took home 3rd place and overall, the team worked really hard to take home a win. “Our debate team did exceptionally well, and we were all surprised with the results. We learned new strategies and gained valuable experience. It was a great opportunity that helped us bond as a team. I can’t wait for our next competition,” stated Dovel. The Debate team will compete again this April in the TAPPS competition.
