On Wednesday, April 12, the McKinney Christian Academy debate team traveled to Waco for the TAPPS 4A Debate competition. This year’s topic was “Justice Requires Open Borders for Human Migration,” and the debate team finished up in second. Junior Gerrit Rogers and sophomore Lucas Mohler tied for third in the semi finals. The team was lead by senior Bradley Dovel who scored 80 points. When asked about his experience at TAPPS Dovel said, “I am really proud with how the team did and how we organized our arguments, I’m going to miss debate and the friendships we made together.” MCA finished fifth overall in total school standings for the TAPPS academic competition.
