The Lady Mustangs walked into Dallas Christian’s territory on Tuesday and pulled off a five set victory. The Mustangs started off slow in the first set with a score of 16-25. The Mustangs picked up the pace in the second set winning 25-23. When asked about the second set, freshman Alexis Guerrero said, “We started off strong and although they came back, we were still able to push through to win the set.” In the third set, the Mustangs fell behind after several errors and could not bounce back losing the set 15-25. After the team came together in the huddle with a plan to win, the Mustangs won in a point by point battle in the fourth set 27-25. In the fifth set Senior Kylie Mullins helped the Mustangs by serving aggressively leading the team with 5 aces to give the Mustangs a 11-2 lead. When Kylie Mullins was asked about the fifth set and she said, “I was ready to put my best on the court and work my hardest to show Dallas Christian what we were made of. I knew it wasn’t going to be an easy fight, but the energy that we had built carried us through the last set.” The Mustangs finished the fifth set 15-8. Junior Bren Williams led the team with 12 kills and senior Kaylin Starling with 11. The Mustangs capped off another district win, keeping the Mustangs undefeated in district.
