On Saturday September 16, McKinney Christian Academy had the Upper School Homecoming dance in the SLC to celebrate the start of the football season. From 8:00-11:00 pm, the students participated in activities such as dancing, talking, and taking photos in the photo booth. This year, MCA hired a new DJ for the dance. The students danced to songs like “Baby” by Justin Bieber, “Enchanted” by Taylor Swift, and “All of the Lights” by Kanye West. The students also got a chance to take pictures in the photo booth, posing with a variety of different signs. When asked about the dance Mrs. Greenwell-Strunk said, “I had a lot of fun stepping in for Mrs. Cowan, helping set up with student government for the dance, getting to chaperone and seeing the students having fun.” Freshman Evan Woodard said, “As my first year as a high schooler, Homecoming was really fun, and it was a great experience.” Senior Allie Stephenson stated, “It was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed dancing with all my friends. It was a good last Homecoming.”

Hi, I'm Aubrey Hagstrom! I am in 9th grade this year, and I have been at MCA since third grade. After school, I enjoy playing soccer and hanging out with my friends and my little brother. This is my first year in the newspaper staff, and my favorite MCA memory was my 8th grade Spring Semi-Formal. My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 37:23-24
"The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand."
