On Monday, October 9th, the MCA band performed their music at the SLC to show what they’ve learned. Each of the bands, from 6th grade to Upper School, performed a piece for the audience, with help from some of the parents. When asked about the concert, Freshman Rydon Lansford said, “The concert was really fun. I enjoyed playing music with my friends. The Upper School band kicked off the concert playing “Fanfare for the Common Man”. Senior Aiden Ewing said, “Expectations were high, demand was high, and we knocked it out of the park.” After that, the 7th and 8th grade band joined the Upper School band to play the marches they learned. They played “Forward March”, “Pershing Rifles” and “Lady Liberty March”. Following the 7th, 8th and Upper School band was the 6th grade band, who showed off what they had recently learned and played “Cheer C” for the audience. The concert ended with the Upper School Marching Band performing their halftime show, “Stevie Wonder Tunes”. When asked about the concert, Band Director Mr. Ken Snow said, “It was a great night with a variety of music and involvement of the band parents. The students performed very well and everyone loved the introduction of the 6th grade band.”

Aubrey Hagstrom, staff writer
Hi, I'm Aubrey Hagstrom! I am in 9th grade this year, and I have been at MCA since third grade. After school, I enjoy playing soccer and hanging out with my friends and my little brother. This is my first year in the newspaper staff, and my favorite MCA memory was my 8th grade Spring Semi-Formal. My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 37:23-24
"The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand."
Harrison Thompson, staff writer
Harry Thompson has been at MCA since 8th grade and is currently a sophomore. This is his second year in newspaper and he is looking forward to all of the events MCA offers. Thompson's favorite sport is track. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends and watching basketball and football. His favorite memory is going to the state meet as a freshman in track. Thompson's is excited to support MCA by contributing to The Mane Edition as a staff writer.
His favorite Bible verse is Luke 6:48, he is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
