On Thursday, November 16, the McKinney Christian Academy first graders participated in an activity called Corn Day. For Corn Day, there were 14 stations where the kids did an activity involving corn. They did activities such as corn painting, reading stories about corn, writing about corn, eating corn, and corn bowling. The student’s parents came down to the school to volunteer and help with all the activities. Michelle Carter, a parent of one of the students and a teacher’s assistant, said, “Corn day is such a fun first grade tradition. The students go through fourteen interactive stations learning all about corn. It’s a great day that parents get to volunteer at a station and work with all the kids.” Corn Day is an annual tradition for the first graders and their families around Thanksgiving.

Hi, I'm Aubrey Hagstrom! I am in 9th grade this year, and I have been at MCA since third grade. After school, I enjoy playing soccer and hanging out with my friends and my little brother. This is my first year in the newspaper staff, and my favorite MCA memory was my 8th grade Spring Semi-Formal. My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 37:23-24
"The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand."
