On Saturday, January 27, TPSMEA held their annual All-state concert consisting of multiple performances from a large number of groups. This year two McKinney Christian Academy students made it into the state band, Jackson Iseneker and Matthew Meeks. The event was located at the McFarlin auditorium on the SMU campus, where the students had been practicing since Thursday. They were directed by Mark DeHertogh, the associate director of the Jazz program and Middle School Jazz coordinator at the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy. “The program was both challenging and rewarding for the students and the audience,” MCA band director Ken Snow said, having attended the program.
